RV University (RVU) is a new-age university for liberal education. It seeks to provide transformative education and produce next generation leaders who will “Go, Change the World”.
Established as a State Private University under a Karnataka legislation, RVU is an initiative of the Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust which has a rich legacy of over eight decades of excellence in higher education. Started in a modest way with six students in 1940 by a freedom fighter, Sri Sivananda Sarma, there are over 30,000 students now enrolled in 27 RV Educational institutions. They range from kindergarten to centres for higher studies and enable people from all sections of society to access affordable and quality education in all spheres of knowledge including arts, humanities, basic sciences, teacher education, health, law, technology and management.
RVU aspires to be a world-class, technology-driven global university grounded in the principles of liberal education, interdisciplinarity, innovation, inclusivity, and social impact.
RVU began its journey with a flagship campus in Bengaluru and is now opening a 42-acre campus in Mysuru, with four foundational schools.
RV University – Mysuru Campus
RVU is establishing a state-of-the-art campus in Mysuru that reflects its commitment to liberal education, interdisciplinary learning and transformative academic experiences. Designed to nurture future-ready graduates, the Mysuru campus brings together academic excellence, global standards and a learning environment that inspires discovery and innovation.
Located at Nanjangud along the banks of the Kabini River, the 42-acre green campus will feature over 2 million sq. ft. of built-up space. Scheduled to welcome its first cohort in 2026, the campus will have the capacity to accommodate approximately 15,000 students and will offer programmes across business, engineering, sciences and psychology.
Foundational Schools
The Mysuru campus will open with four foundational schools:
• School of Management
• School of Engineering
• School of Psychology & Behavioural Sciences
• School of Pure & Applied Sciences
These schools will offer interdisciplinary programmes, cutting-edge research opportunities and international collaborations aligned with global benchmarks and India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
